Hi! I’m your Farmer, Karlee

I started Sunny Slope Farm in 2022, after working on several small scale farms throughout Manitoba. I have always been incredibly passionate about environmental justice and sustainability, and have spent my entire life trying to find ways to reduce my personal impact on the earth while also fitting into the broader environmental justice movement throughout our culture. I spent several years working with livestock animals and really enjoyed it, but at the same time I realized that the way we were farming was detrimental to the earth. I started looking for ways to raise livestock in a way that was less damaging to the environment, and found the world of regenerative agriculture. I have since become incredibly passionate about the process of growing food in a small scale, sustainable, and regenerative way, as well as food justice, and the importance of everyone having ease of access to healthy food. To me, regenerative agriculture includes not just the land but also the community.
